LOVE UNFEIGNED

The Valentine day celebration that occurs on the fourteenth of February every year is a celebration that shakes the world. It is no respecter of persons, age, qualification, and religion. The young, the elderly, the illiterate and the learned without exception are engrossed in the delight and pleasure that this day brings to them. It is a day where gifts are exchanged by lovers and strategically located hot spots in town are fully occupied.
As the world celebrates this day of love, I want to use this medium to talk briefly about the love of God.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but everlasting life. (John 3vs16)
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15vs13)
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die : yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were sinners, Christ died for us.(Romans 5vs7, 8)
From these verses from scripture  we can clearly see the sacrificial love of God in that He gave His only begotten Son to be the substitute for us, to be tried and killed in our place as a result of our sins. It is almost impossible in our world today for a man to die for his loved ones not to talk of another man. This explains the love the God for mankind.
He left the splendor of His majesty in Heaven to live under afflictions anf limitations of time and space just for us. He left a realm where the hosts of Heaven continually worshipped and made obeisance to Him to this earth where He was rejected and disregarded by the people He came to save. He was afflicted, bruised, and smitten for the sake of humanity, that He might bridge the gap between man and God. He took those lashes, insults,  nails piercings and was hanged on the cross being subjected to an open shame just for our redemption. Oh how He loved us !
Unlike men whose show of affection are mainly on their loved ones and for those who will reciprocate. Christ's love on the other hand is poured out to all. It does not discriminate between gender, race or class as He would have all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth. ( 1 Timothy 2vs4)
His love transcends this present world. His desire is for us who have received salvation through faith to dwell with Him for all eternity. (John 14vs1-3).
He doesn't seek to enter into an intimate relationship with you for the wrong reasons as a lot of people do in the world today. But He relates with you to teach you His ways and to give you abundant life. (John 10vs10)
Just as men seek the attention of their loved ones Christ Jesus seeks your attention too. Your heart is all He wants. He is standing right at the door (of your heart) knocking, hoping that you will open to Him (in repentance from sin)  so that He may fellowship with you intimately. (Revelations 3vs20)
This is also a period to return to the bosom of the Master all you who have strayed away from His love by loving the world. He is willing graff you in again! (Romans 11vs 23)
Earnestly tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for you and for me. Come home, come home ye who are weary come home. Earnestly tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for sinners to come home.
If you want to give your life to Christ or return as a backslider say this brief prayer ;
 Lord Jesus I thank you for today. I come as I am, a sinner. I am sorry for the sins I have said, thought, and done, please forgive and accept me. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and I confess with my mouth that you are the Lord. Grant me me the grace to live for you till the end. Thank you for accepting me, in Jesus name (amen).
